Pictures of Jim Robinson, who was stationed at Wethersfield from 1955-1957 with the 20th Comm. Sq. At that time the base had one radio station on base, a BC-610 transmitter aand receiver, and 20 or so operators and a bunch of 6x6 trucks with radio vans and PE-power units on trailers.

Lloyd Nolan was in London at the Hippodrome playing Captain Queeg(sp?) in the Cain Mutiny Court Martial stage play.
Lloyd Nolan and Tyrone Power and an entourage came to Wethersfield and were treated like royalty. they ate with the big brass had an open house and autograph session at the service club, got taken on a T-33 by base pilots.
The next day, they took a bus load of airmen to London, to see the play, and afterwards, had the airmen back stage for champagne with the actors. Also backstage was the actor Pat O'Brien, whose son was a 2 striper airmen stationed somewhere in England.
I don't really know the circumstances why they were there.
